Curl Wigs Tutorial

Hace como dos años publiqué este tutorial aquí, pero lo borré porque pensé que abandonaría el blog. Últimamente me lo han estado pidiendo y la verdad borré las imagenes que tenía. Por suerte me acordé que también subí un extraño video-tutorial a youtube y ahí encontré las fotos, lo malo es que no recuerdo el usuario/contraseña de esa cuenta y ya no puedo contestar los comentarios, así que mejor lo vuelvo a publicar aquí, puede servirles de algo.

Pues bien, para comenzar necesitarás:

• Cepillo de madera
• Crema para peinar
• Rizador con ajuste de calor
• Pinzas para sujetar cabello
• Hoja de papel común y corriente
• Cinta adhesiva
• Peluca (obvio)

Well, you need:

• Wooden brush 
• Styling cream 
• Curler with heat setting 
• Hair clips
• Paper sheet
• Scotch tape 
• Wig (obvious)
  
  

Como pueden ver, es una rizadora bastante sencilla.

 As you can see, it's a pretty simple curling.

Es importante que verifiques que tenga ajuste de calor.

Ahora bien, con mucho cuidado debes cubrir la tenaza con papel y pegarlo con cinta SÓLO EN LA PARTE QUE SOBRESALGA (donde no le de calor directamente). No lo pegues abajo o podrías arruinar tu peluca.

Now, you should carefully cover with paper and glue tape ONLY IN THE EXTENDING PART (which does not heat directly). Do not attach it below or you could ruin your wig.

Es momento de comenzar...

1) Primero que nada, debes cepillar tu peluca con cuidado. Puede ser toda o sólo la parte donde vas a comenzar a trabajar.

1) First of all, you should brush your wig with care. It may be the entire wig or only the part where you will start to work.

2) Separa un mechón de manera vertical, es decir, desde arriba hacia abajo.

2) Separate a bunch vertically, that is, from top to bottom.

3) Una vez que lo hayas separado, haz a un lado lo que sobra para que no te estorbe. Como pueden ver, yo ya había comenzado antes de hacer el tutorial.

4) Te recomiendo que agarres con una pinza lo que sobra, dejando libre sólo el mechón que vas a trabajar. Así será mucho más fácil.

5) A continuación, debes dividir el mechón en tres partes: alta, media y baja. Esto servirá para que tengan bonita forma los rizos. Ahora debes calentar la rizadora a su máxima potencia.

5) Next, you must divide the lock into three parts: high, medium and low. This will serve to have nice shaped curls. Now you should warm the curling at full power.

 

6) En este punto, puedes empezar a poner crema para peinar en los mechones que acabas de hacer (debes hacerlo uno por uno). La crema funciona mejor cuando no está tan fresca, así que puedes tomarte tu tiempo.

6) At this point, you can start using the styling cream in the strands you just did (you must do it one by one). The cream works best when not so fresh, so you can take your time.

 

Ahora si, es momento de rizar!

7) Primero debes bajas la potencia de la rizadora al mínimo y espera 5 segundos aprox. Esto sirve para evitar que tu peluca se queme, pero al mismo tiempo que la rizadora no se quede sin calor. Una vez que hayas esperado, debes empezar a rizar la punta de la peluca desde la base de la rizadora, e ir enrollando poco a poco hasta llegar al final.

7) First, you must switch to low the power of the curling iron and wait 5 seconds approx. This is to prevent burn your wig, but at the same time to prevent the curling iron will not remain without heat. Once you waited, you must begin to curl the wig from the base to the top, and go slowly rolling until the end.

 8) Para que los rizos queden perfectos, debes esperar de 30 a 60 seg. (recuerda, no todas las rizadoras tienen la misma potencia, te recomiendo hacer una primera prueba con menos tiempo de espera).Te sugiero que no sobrepases los 90seg de espera o podrías quemar tu peluca.

Para liberar el rizo, simplemente debes empujarlo hacia afuera. Por favor no abras la pinza o podrías perder tus avances, es mejor "arrimar" el mechón.

8) To make the curls to stay perfect, you must wait for 30-60 sec. (remember, not all the curling irons have the same heat, I recommend making a first test with less waiting time) I suggest you do not overdo the 90seg wait or you may burn your wig's hair.

To release the loop, you simply push it out. Please do not open the clamp or you could lose your progress, it is better to push-out the locks.

9) Así es como deben quedar tus rizos al terminar. La crema para peinar sirve para evitar el frizz. Te recomiendo que no los estires como yo hice en la foto, o podrían perder la forma.

9) Here's how it should be your curls at the end. The styling cream serves to prevent frizz. I recommend you not stretch the curls as I did in the picture, or they may lose shape.

 

Para rizar el siguiente mechón, tendrás que volver a calentar la rizadora a su máxima potencia por 20 seg, bajar a la mínima potencia, y esperar 5 seg antes de poner el nuevo mechón.

Este es el resultado final. Puedes dejar los rizos tal y como salen después de darles o forma, o bien, puedes abrirlos un poco con la ayuda de tus dedos para que tengan más volumen.

To curl the next bunch, you have to reheat the curling at full power for 20 sec, then down to the lowest heat, and wait 5 seconds before putting the new lock.

This is the final result. You can leave the curls as they are, or you can open them a little with the help of your fingers so they have more volume.

Como puedes ver, es un método un poco tardado, pero vale la pena al 100%. Los resultados son demasiado lindos.
