Como muchos de ustedes sabrán, soy una gran amante de los animales, pero mis favoritos son todo tipo de reptiles. Desde que soy niña he sentido fascinación por estos maravillosos seres, y afortunadamente he tenido la oportunidad de cuidar iguanas, ranas, salamandras, anoles, serpientes e incluso axolotls. Todos ellos llegaron a mis manos, debido a que sus hogares se han visto amenzados por contaminación y destrucción de sus territorios.

As many of you know, I'm a great lover of animals, but my favorites are all kinds of reptiles. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by these wonderful ones, and fortunately I had the opportunity to take care for iguanas, frogs, salamanders, anoles, snakes and even axolotls. They came into my hands, because their homes have been threatened by pollution and destruction of their territories.

Desde hace varios años me he unido a campañas artísticas en pro de la educación ambiental. Y hoy les traigo un trabajo magnífico por parte del fotógrafo Andrew McGibbon. Que intenta enseñarnos que las serpientes realmente no son animales malos, y una buena idea para mostrar esto, es fotografiándolos con fondos de colores para que la gente vea la belleza que hay en ellas y olviden un poco sus prejuicios.

For several years I have joined artistic campaigns for environmental education. And today I bring you a magnificent work by photographer Andrew McGibbon. He is trying to show that snakes really are not bad animals, and a good idea to show this, is photographing them with colorful backgrounds, for people to see the beauty in them and forget a their prejudices.

Para mí es muy importante la educación ambiental, y la necesidad que existe en enseñar a los niños y la gente en general, sobre el cuidado de la naturaleza para lograr un equilibro para todos. Debemos entender que no tenemos el derecho de lastimar a los animales ni destruir sus hogares. Por eso, debemos hacer conciencia de ello, y qué mejor manera que con el arte. 

For me it's very important the environmental education, and the need that exists in teaching children and people in general, about caring for nature to found a balance for everyone. We must understand that we have no right to hurt animals or destroy their homes. Therefore, we must raise awareness of it, and what better way than with art.
